I recently had a major bout of procrastination with a job that was very important to me. I couldn't wait to get it done, however I was doing just about anything but working on it. When I was finally finished, I expected to breathe a huge sigh of relief, but nope it wasn't there.
This made me wonder what were the roots of these weeds that were choking out my productivity. Why was I allowing them to thrive at the expense of my serenity? I came to realize fear of failing and having nothing to replace the project with were the source of my problem. Now that I know this, next time weeds start cropping up in my mind, I'm applying weed killer (organic of course) and moving on with my goals.
Next time you find yourself procrastinating, think about it, why are you holding yourself back? Is your procratination causing the very thing you're afraid of? By the way, I'm relieved now!
